When planning any remodeling project in your home, it’s important to hire a skilled contractor who can get the job done right. Hiring an expert to redo your bathroom is the best way to get the results you desire. To ensure that your bathroom makeover is completed on time and on budget, here are a few considerations when choosing a contractor:
References and referrals
One of the easiest ways to find a good contractor to hire is by asking the people you know who they would recommend. Referrals are important to quality companies, so they want to satisfy their clients. Neighbors, friends, and family members can be a great resource of information and are often happy to share the details of positive remodeling experiences. If you do find a contractor on your own, be sure to ask them for a list of several references that you can contact.
Ask the contractors that you’re considering to show you photos from remodel projects that they’ve completed. If you like the way that their work looks, that should boost your confidence in the company. Seeing designs that they have worked on previously should give you a good indication of whether or not they can help you achieve the bathroom you truly want.
Hold interviews
Once you’ve found a few top contenders for your bathroom remodel, you’ll want to meet with them in person to discuss the potential project. The right contractor will be able to answer all of your questions to your satisfaction. You should feel comfortable communicating with them. They should come prepared to provide you with a quote for the work and to give you options, in terms of materials and what can actually be accomplished within your budget. Be sure that they understand your vision for the space. When you find the right contractor, you’ll be able to achieve a beautiful bathroom makeover.

Older homes around Columbus, like those in Upper Arlington for example, present challenges to maximizing space, especially in the bathroom. One Upper Arlington homeowner that we recently worked with wanted to remodel her second bathroom and called us to help her accomplish this.
Jane wanted to fully remodel her second bathroom to create something entirely different. Her and her husband enjoy an updated bathroom in their bedroom and wanted to convert her second bathroom’s old bathtub into a new shower for her kids. Columbus Bath Design removed the old bathtub, installed a walk-in shower, and moved some walls to add extra space to the bathroom.
Jane didn’t realize the entire bathroom could be remodeled like it was and says it feels twice as big now. Our bathroom remodeling experts were able to come in and suggest updates that she didn’t originally realize were possible. Because of the extra space created, Jane was able to order a larger sink cabinet for her kid’s new bathroom.
Jane has renovated other parts of her Upper Arlington home and wanted to keep a consistent theme with the bathroom remodel. With the help of Jane and our designers, the new bathroom was able to keep with the theme of the rest of the house. The entire remodeling project took about one week with minimal disruption to Jane’s family.
