When it’s time to remodel your bathroom, one of the most important considerations and decisions you’ll make is whether to choose a bath or shower. The choice you make will completely change the layout and look of your bathroom. It will also play a significant role in the budget for your project.
If you don’t have the space to install a combo shower-tub and need to make a decision, what option is right for you? Whether or not to go for a bathtub or a shower is something almost all homeowners contemplate.
Not to worry, we’ll discuss all of the differences between a shower and a tub with their respective pros and cons so that you can make a choice that not only suits your needs but also adds the most value to your home. The design experts at Columbus Bath Design are here to help! We’ll guide you through the options you need to consider during the design process.
What are some factors to consider in choosing between a shower and a tub?
Regardless of whether you are going to install a new bathtub or a new shower, you need to make plans for the installation well in advance, even before the drywall is installed and other bathroom fixtures are added.
Not only do practical considerations like plumbing need to be addressed, but there is also the challenge of clearance. Especially if you choose a prefabricated unit, your new fixture will need to be physically moved into your home. If there are doors, appliances, or other fixtures in the way, you’ll need to find a way to get around them.
The overall installation process is fairly straightforward regardless of whether you choose a bathtub or a shower. First, the plumbing will be prepared and the floor will be strengthened where the unit will go. Once the drain plumbing is in place, either a shower pan will be put in place or your new tub will be secured and properly plumbed. After tiling and cleanup, and you have your new bathroom!
What are some cost factors to consider?
If you are on a budget, there are some choices you make that can limit costs. For example, a prefab shower is generally less expensive than a custom installed shower with designer tile.
Likewise, a jacuzzi tub will cost far more than a standard tub. The choices you make then drive the cost of finishes like tilework and fixtures. An expert designer, like those at Columbus Bath Design, can walk you through the many choices and options that are available.
In the end, your bathroom needs to be functional for you. If you are on a budget, you may need to adjust your expectations, but the perfect solution is out there for you.
There are styles and designs to suit every budget, so no need to shy away from a bathroom renovation over concern about cost.
What are other factors to consider when deciding between bathtub and shower?
Other factors that are important to consider include energy and cost efficiency, convenience for family members, available space, and maintenance.
When it comes to energy and cost efficiency, the most significant consideration is water usage and capacity. For instance, a standard bathtub will hold around 25 to 40 gallons of water, while a whirlpool tub generally uses 80 to 100. And with a bigger tub, you may also need to consider the size of your hot water heater!
Another important consideration is to pay attention to the use you expect. A tub may be a great idea for parents with small children, but a shower is a far better plan for older people who may not be comfortable climbing into a tub for a shower. If you are short on time in the morning, a shower is much quicker than a tub, which needs to be filled with hot water before bathing.
When it comes to available space, the choice may be made for you. A tub takes up a lot of space, usually 72 inches long and 30 inches wide. Showers are generally 36 by 48 inches, meaning they have a much smaller footprint than a bathtub.
Finally, maintenance considerations should be key to your decision. Showers are generally easier to maintain and clean than a tub, but showers also have more glass and tile surfaces that need to be kept free from mineral deposits and grime. Whichever choice you make will determine the type and schedule of maintenance you’ll need to keep.

What are some things I should consider in designing my dream bathroom?
A bathroom redesign and renovation can be a daunting task. There are many things to consider, from finishes and fixtures to storage and styles. Our experts will help guide you through the key areas you’ll need to focus on for your project to be a success. Keeping these key factors in mind from the start will guarantee a smooth and headache-free project.
The first thing to consider is customization. How you utilize your bathroom and your vision for what it should be is the most critical part of the planning process. After all, if the finished product doesn’t meet your needs, then it’s a waste of both time and money!
You don’t have to be an expert in interior design to get started. We’ll sit down with you and go through pictures, discussing what you like and don’t like about individual design features and choices. In just a little while, your vision will emerge, and we can keep narrowing the focus until the perfect design has been created.
What choices and features do I need to include in my dream bathroom design?
When you first start seriously planning your dream bathroom, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the number of choices you need to make. One good idea is to start with the basics. By making the overarching, basic choices first, you can gradually narrow down the more specific choices. The very first decision you should make is as fundamental as choosing the color palette you’d like to have in the space. From there you can make choices on décor and fixtures that fit the color scheme and add the functionality you need.
It’s also important to be aware of the current design trends on the market, especially if you intend to sell your home in the next couple of years. By making good decisions in the bathroom remodeling process, you can not only create a dream bathroom for your use but also a design feature that could increase your property value. A great example of this is the current trend of combination bathrooms that include both a walk-in shower and a soaker tub. If space exists to include this best-of-both-worlds scenario, why not take advantage of it?
The essential choice that needs to be made, apart from the color palette, is whether you want your dream bathroom to be more minimal or more functional. Each category has a wide array of customization available, with minimalist designs focusing on keeping spaces open with a modern flair, while functional designs are generally more comfortable and focus on the use of the space.
How do I make sure my dream bathroom is personalized for me?
When you are creating your dream bathroom, the most important part of the design is you! It’s your dream space, so it should reflect your vision. Accessories and products can add a lot of personality. Bringing together all the fixtures and finishes in a way that is appealing to you is important in creating a dream bathroom that makes sense for you and your space.
You need to live in the space, so while it’s important to keep trends in mind while inspiring your decisions, our goal is to help you create a space that you feel comfortable in. Your choices and taste should inform every step of the process, and we’ll help you make the right decisions to bring your dream to life.
No matter what design choices you make, functionality needs to be kept in mind. A bathroom has specific functions it needs to be a successful project. Everything from faucet design to tub size is critical in how you use your bathroom. Having the right touches not only creates a space you’ll be comfortable in, but it will also make your dream bathroom function perfectly.
How do I kickstart planning my dream bathroom?

Because of their practicality and efficiency, shower/tub combos have been staples of American households for decades. With the combo, homeowners have the options of a long, soaking bath or a quick hot shower.
For all their practicality, though, the shower/tub has had its share of problems — most notably mobility issues for older generations.
Even though the shower/tub combo has enjoyed a long run of popularity, the latest bathroom design trends are to do away with it entirely and instead go with a freestanding tub or walk-in shower.
In this issue, the bathroom remodeling experts with Columbus Bath Design will talk about the pros and cons of bathtubs and showers, and each fits into your bathroom.
Few things beat the luxury and relaxation of a soaking bath. If you have young children, it makes sense to have at least one tub in our home. Relatively easy to clean, soaking tubs offer great solutions for pain relief, circulation, and physical therapy.
Tubs don’t have to be boring. Many models have air jets and whirlpools to relax and soothe your every muscle.
Here at Columbus Bath Design, we have the ability to get you just about any tub design you want. Here are the most popular options.
Even as it adds value and comfort to your home, a tub also has a few drawbacks.
Rather than wait for your water when taking a shower, you simply turn the nozzle and walk right in. It’s simple as that.
You’ll also be saving water. According to a study from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), an average full bath will need 70 gallons of water each time you take a bath. On the other hand, a quick shower usually requires only 10-25 gallons.
Other advantages of walk-in showers include;
This is definitely a good time to be in the market for a new shower.
Just about everything in life has its drawbacks, and showers are no different.
Bath design and installation are all we do here at Columbus Bath Design, so we’re confident we can find the right solution for you and your home.

If a bathroom remodeling is on your horizon, one of the most important decisions you’ll need to make is the type of flooring to install. From dampness and heavy foot traffic throughout the day, your bathroom floor takes a beating, so it’s vital you make sure it’s up to the test.
There’s a wide variety of bathroom flooring options available. To make your job easy, though, the bathroom remodeling professionals with Columbus Bath Design have combed through the best choices, and we’re here to give you the pros and cons of each.
Cons: Because of its many pros, you should expect to pay a little more for natural stone bathroom flooring. (Keep in mind that Columbus Bath Design will work with you, and can find solutions for practically any budget.). Another potential drawback for natural stone bathroom flooring is that some stone types require regular treatment with a sealant to prevent damage from excessive moisture.
Cons: Cork can be sensitive to the temperature, which can cause it to expand and contract just a bit. If direct sunlight flows into your bathroom, it can cause your cork flooring to gradually fade.
Cons: The variety of shades for bamboo flooring aren’t as numerous as some other bathroom flooring options. Also, bamboo can absorb water over time, which can lead to damage. To combat that, though, you should feel confident in knowing that damaged pieces can easily be replaced.
Cons: Ceramic tile doesn’t do as good a job as the other choices of retaining heat, especially during winter months. While it’s easy to clean because of its hardness, ceramic tile can be hard on your feet if you’ll be doing lots of standing in your bathroom. Also, ceramic tile is one of the heavier choices, so it’s best to make sure your home’s flooring structure can handle the weight.
Here at Columbus Bath Design, we’re all about finding the right bathroom solution for your home, your style, your personality, and your budget. With that in mind, here are a few pointers to keep in mind when making your selection for a new bathroom flooring.

For most of us, our days begin and end in the bathroom. It’s simply a fact of life. Even when you entertain, your guests may not visit your basement but they’re sure to visit your bathroom.
With one single room garnering so much attention, it only makes good sense to be selective with whom to trust when it’s time to remodel your bathroom.
Here at Columbus Bath Design, we’ve got the bathroom remodeling process down to a science. We do one thing…bath design…and we do it very well. Because of our finely tuned process, our customers are satisfied because the job is done to their specifications, it’s done on time and within budget. Here are the top five reasons why you should trust Columbus Bath Design to remodel your bathroom.
Remodeling your bathroom is an impactful and effective way to increase the overall value of your home. With all of the advancements being made in home energy efficient technologies, you can enjoy significant savings in water and energy costs with a bathroom remodeling project.
Another factor to consider is the fact that a bathroom remodeling project can help you identify any ongoing plumbing issues you may be unaware of. Keep in mind that because the majority of your home’s plumbing is done behind walls and away from your eyes, you often don’t know about potential problems until it’s too late.
With a bathroom remodeling project, the health of your plumbing system is examined, giving you a valuable head start on any plumbing issues that need to be addressed. This knowledge has the potential to save you thousands of dollars in costly repairs if left unchecked.

Fashions change with the times – even for bathrooms. While you may not see them on a paparazzi-lined runway, the trends for a modern, functional and vibrant bathroom are essential components for homeowners wanting a bathroom upgrade.
In this article, we’ll give you the inside scoop on the latest in bathroom remodeling trends for 2020.
It sure does! Even though your bathroom is one of the most functional rooms in your home, it often gets lost in the shuffle when it’s time for a re-do.
For proof, consider the classic speckled granite counters, cabinetry and trim. They definitely rocked the 90s, but they look hopelessly stale in 2020.
As Bob Dylan so famously said, “The times, they are a changin.’”
Even though they’re usually among the smallest rooms in homes, a bit of forethought and planning is required before remodeling. In most cases, plumbing, electrical and carpentry work all come into play during bathroom renovations.
Wall-mounted sinks and vanities: From freeing up much-needed space to making cleanups easier, a sink or vanity mounted on the wall is a stylish solution for small bathrooms.
Smart technology in the bathroom: As technology continues to advance, just about every aspect of our lives are made easier. We’re seeing a noticeable jump in smart technology for bathrooms. This includes voice-activated lighting, toilets with seat warmers, lids that open automatically, built-in deodorizers, electronically controlled showers, and more. Who knew “going” could be so stylish?
Electric towel warmers: Doesn’t a warm, fluffy towel sound incredibly cozy when you step out of the shower?
New tiling shape options: Say “buh-bye” to the basic subway or large format tile of yesteryear. Now, bathroom tiles are far more customizable in terms of shape and colors.
Clear shower doors: Even though these minimalist shower doors began growing in popularity several years ago, they’re still very much in style. The even better news is that manufacturers are hip to the trend, and have responded with providing a host of design options.
As you look at the trends above, one thing becomes obvious: massive furnishing is out, and console-like vanities and minimalism is in.
We do one thing, and we do it very well: bathroom remodeling. Throughout our more than 20 years of service, our team has been at the forefront of knowing the current trends and those on the horizon.
Our process is a simple one: we listen to your ideas and needs, offer a bit of honest feedback and advice, then get to work on making the bathroom of your dreams a reality.
We realize that a remodeling project of any kind can be a bit overwhelming. That’s why we invite you to visit our showroom at 8596 Cotter Street in Lewis Center on the north side of Columbus. It’s a great way to discover inspirational ideas and to see what’s available.
Our team members are happy to guide you through all the design options so that you can get a look and feel for the best possible options.
After agreeing on a final plan, we’ll then visit your home to see if there are any unique situations that need to be identified.
Finally, we’ll schedule a day and time for the installation that works best for you.
Each project has its own peculiarities, but we are able to complete most projects within a single day.
No joking.
If we think it’ll take a second day, based upon our experience we’ll be able to tell you well before the work actually begins. We assure you that the same two installers who begin work on your bathroom remodeling project will stay with it until the job is completed.
Because we believe money should never be an obstacle to having the bathroom of your dreams, Columbus Bath Design is proud to offer financing options that will fit any budget.
So, whether you simply need a new tub, vanity or a complete remodeling of your bathroom, we’re ready to get working for you.

It’s that time of year when everybody wants to breathe a little holiday decor into their home. The good news is that you can do this with just a few simple tips and tricks. You don’t have to spend a ton of time or money to give your house that warm and cozy holiday feeling. Here are a few simple tips to get you started.
To help you narrow down on decorations, choose a theme that you love. Not only will this give your home more flow, but it’ll make the decorating process a little less hectic. Consider what you love most about the holiday season and then incorporate that into each and every room.
Sometimes, people try to decorate around their normal everyday décor. However, you may need to pack it up for a couple of months to make room for your seasonal items. If you try to decorate around the existing décor, it may end up looking and feeling unorganized or cluttered.
Red and green are certainly holiday decor favorites, but don’t be afraid to play up your space with other colors. This time of year can easily incorporate other color schemes such as blue and silver or even loud, vibrant colors. Choose colors that suit your personality and help you get into the holiday spirit.
Candy is one of the easiest (and most delicious!) ways to incorporate holiday decor into the season. You can fill various holiday bowls with your favorite treats or use candy to make arts and crafts you can display. Candy canes are always a holiday favorite for many people.
Holiday music can bring it all together! If you’re having a gathering, don’t underestimate the benefits of a quality holiday song. Choose a few of your favorites and play them quietly in the background at your next social gathering.
A wreath is the first thing that people will see as they approach your home. The wreath can be a simple store-bought one, or if you’re the creative type, then you can make your own! Use pops of holiday colors to bring it all together. You can focus just on weaving in green and red, or you choose your favorite holiday character. Try to stick to a theme that matches the décor inside.
You don’t necessarily need to buy new holiday décor every single year. Instead, choose a theme and add to it periodically. You may also have everyday items that can be pulled out and put on display. For instance, the red mixing bowl that your grandmother gave you may now be a festive candy bowl that you can leave out during the holiday season.
The fireplace is a great focal point of any room. You can add poinsettias and sprigs of greenery to the mantle for a quick holiday pick-me-up. The fireplace is also a great area to display your favorite holiday knick-knacks for everybody to see and enjoy.
Pine cones are an excellent addition to any holiday decor scheme. It’s an easy way to incorporate a bit of nature without overwhelming the space. You could add a few to your holiday wreath or just place them in a decorative bowl. It’s really that simple!
Be mindful of the fragrances you use this time of year. Choose scents such as pine, cinnamon, or clove to help create the ambiance you are looking for.
Don’t forget to add a little something to your light fixtures! This is an excellent opportunity to incorporate garland and holly in a subtle yet effective way.
While the mailbox isn’t inside the home, it certainly adds to the overall feel of it. Add a bit of garland or even a string of lights to your mailbox to bring a little more holiday cheer to the outside of your home.
You don’t have to go overboard with holiday decor. Instead, keep it simple by incorporating a few holiday-inspired touches throughout your space. Reuse, recycle and revamp as many products as you can to save some valuable time and money.
The holidays mean that your home is likely to have a lot of company. This may be the perfect time to consider a remodel of the space that gets frequented the most: the bathroom. Adding a little more storage space or updating the look will go one step further in making the most of your holiday décor.
If you’re considering an update to your space, get in touch with us at Columbus Bath Design. We’re more than happy to help you create a space that you can enjoy all year long! Give us a call at (614) 907-4558 to get started.
Choosing the perfect accessories for any room in the house is never an easy task. If you’ve already got the perfect fixtures and appliances, how do you decorate to really bring attention to them? Choosing the perfect bathroom accessories doesn’t have to be hard.
You can start by asking yourself the following questions:
Bathrooms are often smaller than other rooms in the home, so sometimes choosing the right accessories can be difficult. Focus on must-have accessories. Think about the things you really need to have on-hand, and make these accessories as beautiful as possible. These can be small things like soap dispensers or dishes for must-have products like cotton buds.
Accessories should also be convenient and can apply to small items of furniture. For example, a bathroom chair for longer makeup sessions, or a small stool for the kids to be able to reach the sink and learn how to brush their teeth are pieces of furniture that also double as accessories. Small tables for bath time can also be useful — to put your book on, a glass of wine, or a candle for the perfect relaxation station after a long day. Think about your lifestyle, your layout and the space available, and how your bathroom can best fit your needs.
If you have a small bathroom, you should turn your functional accessories into style pieces. This will avoid the space feeling cluttered, and will make it feel bigger and more zen. You could store your towels in different imaginative ways, like in a basket or rolled up on a wall shelf.
When planning accessories for your bathroom, the general principle is less is more. But this sometimes means people hide away their favorite products, rather than keeping them on show. If the packaging is pretty then don’t feel like you have to hide it away! Create a mood board, think about the style you are aiming for, and consider whether the packaging for this item fits in with it.
Not all of your products in the bathroom need to be hidden — many have interesting and beautiful packaging that can actually add to the interior design of your bathroom. If you don’t like any of your packaging in the bathroom, invest in some quality soaps that have pretty packaging. They’re not all that expensive, and the simple design can make your bathroom feel even more classy and indulgent.
Really consider the design of your bathroom before you start thinking about your accessories. Make sure your accessories fit with your color palette and style. For example, if you’re aiming for a modern Scandinavian look, don’t include an antique Iranian jar. Or if you want your bathroom to feel like a spa for you to relax in after a hard day at work, think about adorning your space with candles or air purifying plants that make you feel at peace. The most important thing is that you decide on a theme and stick to it. Also the same goes for when you’re thinking about your lighting: it needs to be practical, highlight the features of your bathroom, and fit your style.
Bad designs don’t accurately reflect the people who live in them. Your bathroom should reflect you, your tastes and your favorite things. Bring your personality and likes and dislikes in to personalize the space. If you love the beach, theme it around this, or if you feel relaxed in a forest, bring in lots of houseplants and paint the walls green. Make your own safe haven, personalized to you!
Also, think about what accessories make you feel comfortable. Is it when you come out of the shower and put on that plush bathrobe? Then don’t hide it away! That’s what brings you the most happiness out of the functional items in the room, so that is what should be displayed and attention drawn to. Surround yourself only with items that bring you happiness, and show them in a way that celebrates them!
There are many different storage accessories to choose from on the market, from trunks to ceramic containers, wicker baskets to plant pots. There are many different styles and colors, so make sure to choose ones that work with your color scheme, and get only products that work in that color range. For example, a great idea for a simplistic look is just using wicker and white ceramic storage containers. Everything in your bathroom will work in tandem, without being too matchy-matchy as everything serves its own function. You can store them on counter surfaces, or stack them on the floor.
A cool, modern idea is to lean an old step ladder or get a storage unit shaped like a step ladder, to organize all your storage boxes, towels, and ornamental accessories. For items that are harder to find, and you need to use every day, like cotton wool, consider using glass containers. These items aren’t too ugly, so don’t need to be hidden away. If your bathroom is truly tiny, consider putting the surplus product in another room or storage space, and just refilling these storage containers when needed — then the large items won’t take up vital bathroom space, and you’ll be left surrounded by only beautiful things!

Going back to school can be a stressful time. There’s so much to prepare in all of your family’s life, like new clothes and school supplies. Your bathroom should remain your oasis of peace in the evenings, and the clean, fresh awakening in the mornings to get your kids up and out! So we’ve compiled our top tips for getting your bathroom ready for back to school time, making the space feel bigger and better organized, and making it easier to manage multiple people in and out in the mornings.
Over the summer, the first thing you can do is clear out anything old or unused from your bathroom — and all over your house! Getting old items out of your hair is the first step to a more stress-free lifestyle, opening up your time from finding things and stressing, to worrying about the more important things in life, like encouraging your children in their schoolwork! Homework, papers, coats, and backpacks might pile up, but make sure you have designated laundry baskets in the bathroom so everyone knows where their items go — whether it be sweaty sports clothes or used towels. This will help you when you’re cleaning and doing the laundry, and will help keep your bathroom clean and tidy throughout the year.
Everything should always have its own place, and everyone should know where that designated place is, meaning that the whole family can help you keep on top of everything. The kids can even have their own designated baskets, toothbrush holders, towels, etc. to help encourage them to learn how to tidy, and keep this habit up throughout the school year! This means it will be quicker to get ready with the kids in the mornings too, as you’ll never have to spend time looking for things, and they’ll be able to find and use their own stuff easily when they’re older.
Get a wicker basket or storage space to hold books to read to your kids in the bath. If you read to or with your children throughout the summer, it will help get them ready for going back to school. Awaken their imagination, and teach them new vocabulary! Kids whose parents read to them are far more likely to succeed in school; bath time might be just the time to do it – if they’re not too excited!
When the craziness of school starts, it’s nice to plan some family time — if they’re young enough, a bath together could do the trick. Some games to play in the bath which are educational are useful too, or invent some games with the toys they already have! Toys could be stored in the bathroom in a bag, so your child can keep it in their room. That way they won’t be distracted with things that remind them of playtime when they’re getting ready for school in the bathroom.
Whenever you’re designing or re-thinking the layout of a room, it’s essential that you think of how you and your family members use it at different times during the week and year. Remember how you felt at back to school time last year, and let it influence your decisions. Did you all crowd around each other last year, stressed out in the mornings, trying to find something? If so, maybe think about clearly labeling your boxes or storage containers with labels in an attractive font.
Maybe getting ready for back to school last year was a really stressful time for you. Remember to take time for yourself and relax. A simple, chic, well-designed bathroom will help you to switch off and recharge your batteries. Make sure you’ve planned in all your appointments, after school meetings, parents’ evenings, clubs and hobbies on a calendar, so you know you have a solid plan for the future. And then relax!
For a family bathroom, it’s recommended to get large multipurpose cabinets, as your bathroom has to do so many things for so many people. However, if you’ve already designed your bathroom, and you’re looking to diversify your storage options, there are many extra things you can add to your bathroom to better utilize the space. Think about investing in drawer dividers, extra storage, such as wall or corner shelves, and extra hooks on the walls – maybe one for each member of the family!
If you’re struggling to fit everyone in the bathroom in the morning, work out a schedule, so everyone gets enough time before you all have to leave. Instead of a stressed, last-minute morning, have a planned, relaxed, fun one! Layout the breakfast table before you sleep, make sure everyone’s towel and supplies are ready in the bathroom, make sure your children’s clothes are clean and laid out in their bedroom to come back to after their morning wash.
Come and visit us at Columbus Bath Design to find the perfect bathroom to suit all of your family’s needs, or call us on this number: (614) 907-4558.
It can be hard to decide on a design that works for all members of your family, not to mention any guests or visitors you may have along the way! A great family bathroom evolves and grows too alongside your family. Therefore, from the beginning of your redecoration process, you need a design that can adapt. All fittings in the family bathroom should be low maintenance and durable. You need the right fittings, fixtures, and finishes — and then your bathroom can truly adapt for a growing family, all of your guests, and your personal needs. We at Columbus Bath Design can help you find a simple design with lots of storage that’s elegant but also durable. We’ll help you create a perfect bathroom for both play-time in the bath with your young ones, and an oasis of peace for you when you want a little peace and quiet.
So how can I create more space for all of the members of my family?
We recommend that when designing your bathroom for a family, including a large amount of storage space. Maybe choose a combination unit with plenty of built-in storage. You could also add wall hanging units, corner shelves, storage at the end of the bath or niches in the walls of showers to give you that extra storage where none existed before — keeping your bathroom streamlined and making it feel bigger!
Firstly, not all of the possessions we keep in our bathroom actually need to be here. Think about stealing space in other parts of your house — for example, bedrooms, storage cupboards, etc – for anything you don’t definitely need to store in the bathroom. This could include duplicates, medicines or spare towels.
Here are some chicer, tried and tested ways to bring extra storage space to your bathroom:
Multiple hanging bars or racks, with some, placed lower down so your kids can reach them. This is also a great way to introduce tidying to your family. If each person knows where everything goes and can access it, they’re more likely to be interested in the tidying process and help you in the future. It’s a win-win! You could think about adding these extra hooks on the inside of the bathroom door, to keep the space feeling uncluttered and minimalist.
Also, think about investing in a stool so that the kids can reach everything they need like the sink, getting into the bath or reaching higher up cabinets. You could get a stool that folds away, but if you’re worried about it not being stable enough, think about creating enough storage in your under-sink cabinet that you can store a stool there.
A great way to make your bathroom work for the whole family is to give each member their own area. This leaves the tidying responsibility to them, and wipes out the possibility of anyone fighting over whose towel is theirs! Here are some ways you can divide up your bathroom for all your family members:
Lots of people might think that replacing a bath with a shower is the perfect way to save space in a family bathroom. But multiple members of the family can have a bath, it’s fun, and can bring everyone together. It also means the house will be easier to re-sell if you’re considering that in the future. If you’re tight on space you could have a shower over the bath for the best of both worlds.
